I'm a perfect low-maintenence companion for your larger showy plants. I'm happy as a stand-alone plant, or I can be grouped with other fatsia plants to make a real impact statement in a container or at the front of the border. Many people keep me as an indoor plant, so I'll be very happy in a shady garden or balcony. I'm evergreen and am much tougher than I look, and I can put up with cold, shady or dry conditions. During my first year I won't be very happy if I'm left for a long time in really wet conditions, or if I'm outside in a severe frost. But I know what the British weather is like, so I'll do my best to bring some exotic flavour to your patch of paradise, and I'll do my best to keep looking good for you all year round.
Fatsia japonica
I'm well behaved and quite fast growing. In the perfect spot - partial shade and warm with plenty of water and food - I can grow between 15cm and 30cm in a year.
